Chelsea in Bloom 2024

At last, the final Chelsea post! It is sweltering in Durham like so many cities in the US this July. I hope you enjoy these photos of pleasantly cool weather in Sloane Square on May 20th.

Chelsea in Bloom is a free event that runs concurrently to the RHS Chelsea Flower show. We were very fortunate to view the retailers' displays on a gorgeous day in London. Everyone was enjoying the weather and the great displays.

I highly recommend a visit to this event.

The fun started immediately after leaving the Sloane Square tube station. The Ralph Lauren store was in full Chelsea mode.

A short stroll from here we entered the Duke of York Square. This was a wonderful pedestrianized court yard area with retail and eateries. The Square is anchored by the Saatchi Gallery and Partridges grocery.

A few highlights of the displays on the Duke of York Square

For the love of lemons!

Too funny, I didn't realize this was a cocktail until I posted the photo. I was just mesmerized by the pink from afar.

Partridges, Home of the Chelsea Bun and the Royal seal of approval. Also, home to the "World's First Ever Floral Chelsea Bun". This bun was made from 730 flowers.

My lunch date at Comptoir Libanais

Monica Vinader, Jewelry and Piercings

This was one of my favorite displays.

A few short blocks away at 11 Cadogan Gardens Hotel. I love the flying bees.

Circling back to King's Road

Wonderful models! We all enjoy some style.

Klattermusen on King's Road. The very nice shop keeper came out to tell us that this is a Scandinavian forest garden. She was very resourceful and used purple grapes as a substitute for juniper berries. I thought this was lovely. If you expand the photo you can really appreciate the subtle detail.

A gorgeous Mexican restaurant on King's Road You don't see many Mexican restaurants in London. Maybe, it is the next food trend.

Cartier on Sloane Street

Still on Sloane Street ..... This is how to green up the front steps.

Shall we wrap this very British series up with cake and tea? "Floral Feasts" was this year's Chelsea in Bloom theme.

Thanks for following the Chelsea blog posts. I hope they conveyed the heart of the Chelsea experience.
